The Strength of the Market is: Strong

Last week, stocks had their best week since August. Investor optimism got a boost from news that Washington lawmaker's agreed on a deal to raise the debt ceiling. This good news dominated bad news of a disappointing jobs report, accelerating inflation and rising interest rates.

Economic reports from last week came back mixed: •Vehicle Sales - worse than expectation •Factory Orders - better than expectation •Private Employment - better than expectation •Jobless Claims - better than expectation •Consumer Credit - worse than expectation •Employment Situation - worse than expectation This week, investors will look for guidance from economic reports like Small Business Optimism, Job Openings, Jobless Claims, Manufacturing, Retail Sales and Consumer Sentiment.
