The Strength of the Market is: Strong

Last week wrapped up with an eight day winning streak for the Dow Jones and its best week so far this year, up 2.16% for the week. The S&P 500 rose 1.85% and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.14%, both posting a third consecutive winning week. Although, investor enthusiasm is staying somewhat controlled by inflation, which does not seem to be moving in the right direction. This week, financial markets will be put to the test when the latest inflation information is released (Wednesday Morning).

Economic reports from last week came back mostly negative:

•Consumer Credit - lower than expectation

•Consumer Sentiment - lower than expectation

•Jobless Claims - higher than expectation

This week, investors will look for guidance from economic reports like Small Business Optimism, Inflation, Retail Sales, Manufacturing, Housing and Jobless Claims.
